About Me

Hi, I’m Jen!

If this were a novel, this is where the author would pause to introduce the protagonist. Since it’s my website, I’m going to indulge myself a little in that fantasy. Pinky promise that I’ll keep the dramatic backstory to a minimum.

Jen is a writer and researcher by training, and a creative at heart. She has never been particularly interested in staying in one lane. There are too simply too many interesting things happening in the other ones!

Her career reflects this. She has worked across communications, fundraising, digital marketing, brand development and social media, with NGOs, national firms, local charities and some pretty amazing small businesses. The common thread? Strategy.

And it turns out, strategy is a pretty great place for a curious multi-passionate to land. And through all of it, one thing has become increasingly clear: when your story is clear, everything else starts to click.

Which, conveniently, brings us to Local Lore.

Because here’s the good news: Your brand already has a story. From the first time you thought “let’s do this,” to the relationships you’ve built and the space you’ve carved out in your industry, it’s all there.

All we have to do is tell it.

Hello!

Local Lore Creative is the next chapter of my work in (and love for) creative strategy & digital marketing.

I’m as happy mapping out a strategy as I am writing the copy, capturing the photos, shaping the visuals or figuring out how an idea comes to life on social. For me, the thinking and the making are part of the same process.

It means you get a partner who can see the whole picture, then help bring it to life.

I’ll always say yes to:

Coffee. A great local recommendation. Walking somewhere instead of driving. Finding out the weird history of a building. Long voice notes. New creative hobbies. Finding new fonts. Planning, and planning to plan.

It’s a no to:

Spiders. AI writing. AI images. AI videos (see the pattern?). “Going viral” as a strategy. Scary movies. Doing without planning.
